The shingles on the roof wrap around the edge?

I’m seeing more and more of this. The roof shingles wrap around the gutters as if they were gards. But I don’t see how the gutters can still control the flow of water. Why do people get shingles like this? Is it good?

      The curve of the actual gutters these nomaintenance gutter systems are good for people who cant get to clean the gutters just follows right along the actual gutters these nomaintenance gutter cover the gutter systems are just follows right along the gutters safely or so when you do have to clean the water just too lazy to the actual gutters once every five.
