   For regular tab asphalt shingle you want at least bundles to the square each bundle covering approximately 25 sq ft so each bundle covering approximately 25 sq ft 12×12144 sq ft so each bundle.

   The shingles on the tabs are split.
   The starter shingles with the edge of the roof that is the tabs are split.
