Im curious what is the best way to cut asphault shingle roofing? Im using a utility knife right now but its not coming out even! I need to know what gives it that perfect cut with no imperfections!

      Use an old framing square with your knife. Work on a scrap of plywood with a good edge.

      Cut it on the back side, and then snap it off.

      The shingle over using straight edge score the shingle with utility knife then bend and snap thats as good as it gets.

      For roofing material cut from the back side am sure you are going through lot of utility blades.

      For your utility knife they work very well because you pull the blade up through the blade up through the shingle.
